Meet Our Staff

Meet Our Staff

Our friendly staff is mature and well educated in the comfort and medical needs of your pets. They are very helpful and knowledgeable and are able to answer whatever questions you might have.

Our entire staff have received a Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substances Permit (VACSP).
To All of You - We want you to know how special you are to us. If it weren’t for all the wonderful care, herbs, friendly staff and advanced treatment, “Marley” wouldn’t have lasted as long as she did.We can’t thank you enough for all of your thoughtfulness during a very difficult time. Our sweet girl would have been 14 on 2/18. She will be in our hearts forever.

Heidi Tijsseling, DVM: Managing Veterinarian

Heidi Tijsseling, DVM: Managing Veterinarian

I am the Managing Veterinarian here at FVH. I started in the veterinary industry as a kennel attendant in 1983. I earned my vet tech license in 1988, but spent most of my time raising my 2 sons and working with horses. Despite a rocky divorce ending a 16-year marriage, I went back to school to earn a Bachelors degree and fulfill the requirements to apply to vet school. I finally realized my lifelong dream and graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. During that time, I also earned my amateur radio license, class M motorcycle license, advanced scuba certification, and P2 paragliding pilot license. Currently I love the rigors of vet medicine and have a passion for surgery. I am currently involved in the CVMA, SVVMA (veterinary medical associations) and disaster relief core. I am involved in the Christian Motorcyclists Assn. (CMA), Folsom Harley Owners Group (HOG), River City Biker Babes and Sacramento Classic thunderbird club. I also am active with the Tevis Cup 100 mile endurance horse race every year. In my rare time off, I enjoy breeding cockatiels and canaries, camping, hiking, scuba diving, kayaking, and horseback riding. I also show a Harley Davidson ’04 Fatboy custom, plus a 1957 Thunderbird E-Code. You can see me cruising around town on my 2016 HD Streetglide CVO Custom Harley. I share my 8 acre horse ranch with my husband, Robert, 5 horses, 3 cats, and numerous canaries and cockatiels.

Humphrey Lin, DVM

My name is Humphrey Lin, and I joined Folsom Veterinary Hospital as an Associate Veterinarian in 2022 after graduating from UC Davis with my DVM. I have a Masters in Biology from UC San Diego, and I worked for a number of years as a biology researcher in Southern California before realizing that life in the laboratory isn’t for me. After moving to Davis and loving NorCal, my wife and I, along with our dilute calico Lucie decided to settle in the area. In my free time I enjoy playing golf and pickleball (both mediocrely). I am also an avid amateur musician, and I love writing songs and playing for my church!

The staff at Folsom Veterinary Hospital is always very helpful, considerate, and concerned about me and my feline. FVH is always concerned about helping me in providing a comfortable and healthy life for my cats. I very much appreciate you guys, and will keep coming back. Thx much for all your help and best regards.

The Doctors & Staff - Dick and I have always known you gave Jake the best possible professional veterinary care. We appreciate how you cared for him and treated him as if he was your special companion. He always loved coming to see everyone! Losing Jake has been difficult, but what wonderful memories I have of him rushing in your front door, jumping up to see who was behind the counter and staring at the door waiting for Chuck (or anyone in his absence) to come through it… knowing they would want to give him attention. We sincerely thank you for the copies of “The Rainbow Bridge” and “If I Should Grow Frail” poems. It reminds us that we always wanted to do what was best for Jake, not us. With gratitude for the memories and for helping us cope.

FVH Staff

To the Doctors and Staff of Folsom Veterinary Hospital:
Thank you so much for the excellent care you gave our dog Molly during the 15 years of her life. Her good health and longevity was directly attributable to the compassion and professionalism of your entire organization. She brought our family many years of happy memories and will be greatly missed.

I... have to mention the staff – they are the best! Each one of them brings something special to the practice. They are welcoming, caring, and professional and always do their best to make sure the client and patient care satisfied with the care they receive.

Besides me, Beanie, Lucy and Tillie say thank you for your kindness and care and especially the treats!
